BEDFORD AND OUR EDUCATIONAL SPACES

Bedford and the spaces we work with are not simply a backdrop, but an active part of the experience. The city, families, cultural centres and sports clubs come together to create a real educational environment, consistent with our philosophy: learning the language by living it, with real people, in places with history and meaning.

Personal and Carefully Selected Accommodation

Families Who Open Their Homes to Us

At Aprender Viviendo, accommodation is a fundamental part of our philosophy, and it is we, personally, who select each family. We know all of them, visit their homes, conduct interviews and assess their warmth and willingness to welcome students with care and responsibility. Many of these families have been working with us for years and have built a relationship of trust with Aprender Viviendo that is evident from day one. Some even host the same participants again, and many end up becoming true friends.

Living with a local family allows you to practise the language naturally, in a real context, while sharing customs, meals, everyday moments and cultural values. It is a human experience as enriching as the educational programme itself.

Activities Between Peers,
in a Space with History

The afternoon activities, carried out alongside English buddies, take place in a very special location: Bunyan Meeting Rooms, a historic 19th-century building located in the heart of Bedford, next to the John Bunyan Museum.

In this characterful and historic space, creative workshops, group dynamics, collaborative projects and conversation sessions take place, where Spanish and English young people share time, ideas and real experiences.

This approach based on peer learning—between young people of the same age—facilitates more natural communication, builds confidence and creates an environment where language flows without pressure. Friendships are formed, codes are shared and learning happens through personal connection, in a safe environment always supervised by adult staff.

SAILING AT PRIORY MARINA

Sailing activities take place at Priory Marina, a natural lake surrounded by green spaces, very close to the centre of Bedford. It is a safe, spacious and perfectly equipped venue for introduction and development in water sports.

Priory Marina allows us to combine sport, nature and learning in a calm and controlled environment, ideal for young people approaching sailing for the first time.

Sport and Tradition: Bedford Rowing Club

For rowing activities, we work with the historic Star Club of Bedford, one of the most recognised rowing clubs in the area. Located on the banks of the River Great Ouse, it offers first-class facilities and a privileged setting for sporting practice.

Here, participants learn and train in rowing in a real context, sharing space with local athletes and discovering one of the country’s most deep-rooted sporting traditions.
